Brigade was formed in 2001, and has quickly become one of Oklahoma's premier bluegrass band's. They have worked hard at aquiring their unique sound. Every member of Brigade has at least 30 year's experience and continue to strive to make this band as good as it can be.
Tina Bonham sing's vocal's and harmony's for the group. She has an extensive background in many area's of music beside's bluegrass. She has a strong voice and a great ability to sing not only lead, but the high harmony as well. Her influences range from Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, to Cher. Tina not only bring's her great voice to the group, but also her knack for finding great song's for Brigade to perform.
David Bonham play's guitar and sing's vocal's in the group. David is well known in the Oklahoma area for his intricate lead guitar work and his lead and harmony vocal's. Some of David's influence's are Clarence White, Doc Watson, Charley Waller, and Tony Rice. David's musical experience and vast repetiore is a vital piece to Brigade's sound.
Mike Perry play's upright bass and is the newest member of Brigade. Mike's bass work is the backbone of Brigade's timing. Mike has worked hard learning Brigade's song's and arrangement's, and his attack and tone with his bass has really lifted Brigade's sound to a new plateau.
Mickey Flatt play's banjo and does harmony vocal's. Mickey has performed with several band's over the last 30 years in Oklahoma and Texas. Mickey has also played with such bluegrass legend's as Mac Wisemen, Chubby Wise, Josh Grave's, Kenny Baker, and many other's. His banjo influences include Earl Scrugg's, Sonny Osborne, and Terry Baucom.
Brigade has performed all over Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival, The OKC Art's Festival, The UCO Jazz Lab, and numerous bluegrass show's and churches. Look for Brigade at a venue near you and hear a fresh and new approach to bluegrass music.
