THE JAZZ COMPANY FEATURING BRIAN GORRELL & SHANE CONAWAY
The Jazz Company is Oklahoma's premier contemporary
jazz band! The group was formed in 1995 when Brian returned
to Oklahoma after performing with The Lawrence Welk Orchestra in Branson,
Missouri.
The Jazz Company performs a wide variety of styles
including traditional & contemporary
jazz, funk, latin, & pop music. Their music somewhat focuses on original
compositions by Brian Gorrell & Shane Conaway and they also perform
material by other composers as diverse as Billy Strayhorn,
Victor Young, Marcus Miller, & Pat Metheny.
To date, the group has
completed three albums and is currently composing new
music for a fourth project. Group members include Gorrell on keyboards/saxophone,
Shane Conaway on guitar, Mike Walker on drums, Rick Bange
on bass, and Armando Rivera on percussion.
